Ganduje made the announcement during a meeting with Islamic scholars, the Kano Bar Association, the Muslim Bar Association and heads of security agencies in the state on Thursday evening at Africa House, Kano State Government House.

Since March 2020, Aminu Sharif, a resident of Sharifai area in the heart of Kano city, has been performing a song, in which he has made a name for himself.

Ganduje said following pressure from the people of the state and the clergy to sign the decree, he made his position clear, but said since the court had given Yahya Shariff 30 days, he would have to wait until then the promise is fulfilled. Ganduje also said there was a need for educators to continue educating the public to avoid clashes between religious groups in the state.
